My name is Jana Chodonowitsch and I’m an 31 year old artist.I grew up in a working-class family where security is everything and art is… cute, but definitely not a job. So after thirteen years pushing shifts in healthcare (OR), I rebelled, listened to my heart and quit. Best. Decision. Ever.
Now I’m permanently broke but deeply happy and healthy.Let’s rewind a little: From spring 2023 to spring 2025, I slowly turned my creative hobbies into bigger projects. I began painting huge abstract works with acrylics, oils and raw pigments (they stain everything and never feel sorry for it — even the white-toed foster cat walked out of my studio with green toes). So yes… material learning curve: very steep. At some point I realized creating isn’t optional for me. It’s a necessity. And because juggling operating theatre shifts and creativity felt like burning the candle at both ends, I threw everything overboard.
I left Switzerland, my stable job in healthcare, my apartment and all comfort for the wild idea of becoming a nomadic full-time artist and moved back to northern Germany.Walking straight into the unknown, Transformation, the human body and invisible constructs drives me to create. Everything else i still waiting to be discovered.
