This colourful, powerful and cheeky series of six: Provocative Choices, marks the personal ‘no-way-back’ of artist Jana Chodonowitsch im 2023. She created this 2 x 2 metre series in her former studio in Solothurn, Dulliken. The focus of the paintings on canvas, created using acrylic, pastel chalk, oil pastels and charcoal, was the exploration of freedom and boundaries. The interplay of colours between provocation and harmony runs through this cool series.
Jana Chodonowitsch is a 31-year-old artist whose work explores the human body, transformation, and invisible structures through analog illustrations and painting.
In summer 2025, after more than a decade working as a surgical tech in Germany and Switzerland, Jana chose to pursue art full-time, following her drive for daily art practices through curiosity and the discovery of the unknown.
From 2022 to 2025, her initially small creative painting projects with acrylics, oils, and pigments turned unexpectedly into huge abstract paintings, which led to her first tiny solo exhibitions in Schwyz and Stuttgart.
During this period, over 300 so-called Quakes emerged through exploring bodily sensations, movement, and the subconscious. These analog one-line illustrations are now part of her first Limited Edition Art Print collection.
